Section 63
Bond to be kept
: (1) Candidates must keep a bond of ten thousand rupees in the office of the concerned election officer to be a candidate in the election.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), there will be a fifty percent discount on the bond amount in case of women, dalit or minority community or economically disadvantaged candidates. Explanation: For the purposes of this sub-section, "economically disadvantaged" means a person whose annual family income is less than fifty thousand rupees as recommended by the concerned local level.
(3) In the event that more than one nomination paper is filed for the same candidate in the election, only one nomination paper will be deposited.
(4) When depositing the deposit according to sub-section (1), the candidate or the party can file in cash or submit the receipt of depositing cash deposit to the bank.
